PCR Test Requirements

In order to be able to enjoy your vacation in Egypt and to be able to enter the country, there are some important requirements you need to know about regarding COVID-19, and here are the most essential of them:

  • All travelers who want to enter Egypt including the Egyptians need to provide a negative PCR test which must be issued a maximum of 72 hrs before the timing of their arrival to Egypt. The PCR test should be printed, signed, and stamped and the electronic version of the test is not acceptable at the airport.
  • For the travelers who are coming from Paris, North America, South America, China, Canada, Frankfort, London, or Heathrow, they have the availability to do the PCR test a maximum of 96 hrs prior to their arrival.
  • Children who are less than 6 years aren’t required to provide a PCR test upon their arrival.
  • All passengers should definitely maintain the fixed precautionary procedures while being in Egypt anywhere to protect themselves from the danger of getting infected.
  • There is no availability to do the PCR test upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport.
  • For transit travelers, they must have their PCR tests with them even if the other airports that they are traveling to don’t require that test.
  • For travelers who are going to arrive through the airports of Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, or Taba, they can simply do the test upon their arrival and pay for it directly on the spot but notice that the passenger will be isolated at the hotel till the result of the test appeared.

The Main Requirements to Get Your PCR Certificate Accepted Upon Your Arrival

  • Your PCR result should include the exact date and timing of withdrawing the required sample and the result should be issued a maximum of 72 hrs prior to the timing of the arrival to Egypt except for the countries which we have mentioned above who are allowed to issue the test a maximum of 96 hrs.
  • The test should be done at an accredited laboratory and after it is issued, it needs to be printed, signed, and issued.
  • The PCR result shouldn’t have any additions, scraping, or cancellation.
  • The result should reflect the type of test that has been done either PCR or RT.
  • The PC certificate is accepted in Arabic or English.

NOTE: Once the PCR certificate is used upon arrival to Egypt, it can’t be used again when you are getting back to Egypt and kindly don’t hesitate in getting back to us if you have any inquiries.
