Rosetta Day Tour from Alexandria
You will be picked up from your hotel in Alexandria or your cruise ship (outside the exit door) by one of our "Trips in Egypt" professional expert tour guides and get ready to start your day trip by driving for around an hour in a modern vehicle heading towards the City of Rosetta, now named as Rashid.
Once you reach, your first stop will be the fascinating Rashid Museum; it's the most remarkable example of the city's Ottoman houses where you will impress the timeless copy of the Rosetta Stone, the key to cracking the hieroglyphic code, and explore other some local belongings preserved inside the museum.
After that, you will be taken for a walking stroll through the local outskirts and the oriental markets of the town. Then step into the House of Amasyali; one of the finest examples of the marvelous houses of the Ottomans. Another local place in Rosetta City is the Mill of Abu Shaheen; a trade spot serving the original inhabitants and the local community.
After that, your tour guide will lead you to visit the fabulous Hanging Mosque; it's a unique structure since it's one of the few mosques constructed on an upper level.
And finally, you will be taken for a short drive to witness the Citadel of Qaitbey; established in 1479 as a defensive fortified wall against the invasion of the Ottomans.
We will drive you back to Alexandria where you will enjoy a wonderful lunch meal at a good restaurant.
Transfer you back to your hotel.
