Belgian artist Jean Verame created 1980 this incredible piece of art to commemorate the signing of the 1979 Egypt–Israel peace treaty in Washington DC. Jean Verame visited Sinai in 1978 for the first time where he was inspired to immortalize this act of peace by the hit song "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue".
After he got the official approval of president Anwar el Sadat and was supplied 10 tonnes of blue paint by the United Nations to begin his art project which was known as the "Line of Peace" and "Sinai Peace Junction" which extended with a height of 9 m high of 6.5 km of stone boulders.
