Edfu Temple is located north of Aswan and south of Luxor. The temple was built in the Ptolemaic era and was Dedicated to, (The God Horus) in 237 BC. The temple also contained a large gate. The door of this gate was made of cedar, which was decorated with bronze, gold and topped by a winged sun disk representing the god Hor. The gate is followed by a large courtyard with two rows of columns on each side, they are thirty-two columns.
