The High Dam of Aswan
Aswan High Dam was constructed under the supervision of Egyptian President Gamal Abd El-Nasser in the 60s with the financial help of UNESCO. It has had significant effects on the Egyptian economy, and surely it also has social impacts.

The Unfinished Obelisk
Surprisingly, the reason behind calling the Unfinished Obelisk is that Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) intended to make the largest obelisk ever built by a man to stand at Karnak Temple, but things went wrong, which caused some damage to the obelisk, so she ordered her workers to move it to its final destination, which is Aswan.

Philae Temple
Philae Temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis, the ancient god of Motherhood and healing. It was completed between 380-362 BC in the Ptolemaic age and was affected by the construction of the High Dam, so UNESCO relocated it to its own private island to protect it from the flood.

Abu Simbel Temple
Abu Simbel Temples are golden creations of celestial glory and power. They were built by Pharaoh Ramesses II (1279-1213 BC) as a sign of his immortal success and to express his passion for his Great Royal Wife, Queen Nefertari.
The temple actually contains two temples inside: the Great Temple, which was built in 1264 BC by Ramesses II to dedicate to Amon-Re, Ptah, and Re-Horakhte, plus honor his victory at Kadesh in 1274 BC, and the Smaller Temple, which was built to honor his beautiful wife, lover of Hathor, Queen Nefertari.
