Philae temple is a mystical marvel that stands tall on the sacred Angelika Island, and its very existence is a testament to the powers of the Aswan High Dam, which rescued it from being swallowed by the watery depths. But there's more to this temple than just its stunning scenery. In ancient times, it served as the beating heart of the revered cult of the goddess Isis of motherhood during the Ptolemaic era.
When its building started in 1960, Aswan High Dam had a height of 360 feet and spans an impressive 12,500 feet across; this marvel of modern engineering is a true masterpiece that has captured the imagination of people across the world. Completed in 1971, the Aswan High Dam was hailed as a monumental achievement that heralded a new era of progress and prosperity for Egypt.
