Ancient Egyptian women could own property, divorce, rule, and even become pharaohs, so you will appreciate the architectural achievements of the pyramid which was built with precise alignments, and covered with white limestone that reflected the sun.
The Great Sphinx of Giza is a magical sculpture that represents the ancient Egyptian civilization. This huge statue was built around 2500 BC during the Old Kingdom period and is believed to depict the pharaoh, Khafre. The lion also connects to the goddess "Sekhmet" who had protective powers as well as healing abilities.
The Valley temple was associated with women or goddesses who were seen as guides of the deceased Queens. This sacred palace was associated with “Menkaure” who ruled in the 26th century BC and contained statues of him with his wife and female goddesses such as “Hathor” the goddess of love and dance. These statues show the respect that the pharaohs had for the female powers in their religion. Henutsen’s Tomb Henutsen was an ancient Egyptian queen consort who lived during the 4th dynasty of the Old Kingdom Period. The Queen was the second or third wife of Pharaoh Khufu and was buried at Giza, she was the mother of Seshemnefer II and III who also had mastaba tombs at Giza. Queen Henutsen was a priestess of Hathor and Neith who were the goddesses of the afterlife.

Merities I was an ancient Egyptian queen of the 4th Dynasty who was the wife of King Khufu and the mother of King Djedefre. Her name means "Beloved of her Father". The tomb of Queen Merities I was decorated with statues of her with her husband and goddesses such as Hathor. The Egyptian Museum The museum has a special hall that is dedicated to the royal mummies of the ancient kings and queens of Egypt who ruled from the 17th to the 20th dynasty such as Hatshepsut, and Seqenenre Taa II. The museum also demonstrates statues of goddesses such as Hathor, you can also see crowns and ornaments that were worn by Queen Tiye and Nefertiti.

The museum was built for Princess “Fatma Al-Zahra” who was a descendant of Khedive Ismail who was one of the most influential rulers of Egypt. The museum also honors the legacy of the queens and princesses of Egypt who were powerful, and influential women in their society.
Pompey's Pillar was built in 297 A.D. to commemorate the Roman Emperor Diocletian. The area around the pillar is called the Serapeum where “Hypatia” a female astronomer, mathematician, scholar, and philosopher of the 4th century AD lived and worked. Her academic achievements and her tragic death are linked to the culture of the Serapeum at that time.

Hatshepsut legitimized her prestige as both a woman and a pharaoh, breaking traditional gender norms of ancient Egyptian society.

The Valley of the Queens is a site where many royal women of the New Kingdom were buried. You can witness the most famous tomb which belongs to Queen Nefertari who was the beloved wife of Ramses II and was associated with the goddess Hathor. You can also witness Queen “Titi” a Ramesside queen who was depicted as a goddess in her own right and wore a headdress and a sun disk. The Valley of the Queens also contains the tombs of the daughters of Ramses III who were priestesses of Hathor.
The Colossi of Memnon was constructed by Pharaoh Amenhotep III who ruled Egypt from 1386 to 1353 BC, they were dedicated to his wife Tiye and his mother Mutemwiya who were two influential women in his life. The statues are decorated with images of the Nile god Hapi who symbolizes the union of Upper and Lower Egypt, and the plants of papyrus and lotus which represent the same idea.
