While the Temple of Edfu was erected on the site of an earlier temple from the New Kingdom era, the temple was rebuilt during the Ptolemaic period, which lasted from 237 to 57 BC. To commemorate the triumph of the God Horus over the God Seth, the temple of Edfu was constructed and dedicated to the God Horus. Today, Honeymooners can explore Edfu Temple and learn about the mythology of Ancient Egypt.
Then go back to our Nile Cruise and enjoy sailing till you reach:
The temple of Kom Ombo was built during the Ptolemaic period, between 180 and 47 BC. Plus, the island of Philae is home to a number of other interesting structures, including a kiosk that was built by the Roman emperor "Trajan".
The Unfinished Obelisk is an ancient monument that offers a glimpse into the creative construction techniques used by the Ancient Egyptians.
