The Valley of the Kings is the most awe-inspiring architectural site in the ancient city of Luxor, serving as the royal necropolis located on Luxor's West Bank during the New Kingdom period (1570 – 1050 BC). Hidden within the desert cliffs, the valley contains 63 tombs decorated with exceptional ancient artwork dedicated to immortal pharaohs like Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses the Great. This sacred area was strictly reserved for the burial of the kings and high-ranking nobles of Egypt's golden age.

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

Colossi of Memnon

These two identical enormous sculptures of Colossi of Memnon towered 23 meters in height, standing at the entrance of the ancient city of Thebes. The colossi of Amenhotep III (1391–1353 BC) are made of quartzite that was created in Cairo and then taken to Luxor to be the divine guardians of this blessed capital city. Across the colossi are about 107 Roman-era Latin carvings and Greek inscriptions that tell his life story, beliefs, and achievements.

Karnak Temple

The Complex was dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu which as seen across the Pylons, shrines, temples, and more, which was built between 1971 and 30 BC.

The magnificent Qaitbay Citadel is an impressive Islamic fortification built by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa'itbay between 1477 and 1479 AD. This majestic fortress stands on the exact site of the ancient Pharos Lighthouse which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, utilizing recovered stones from the legendary collapsed structure. Later restored in 1840 AD, the citadel remains an exceptional masterpiece of Mamluk military architecture that protected this historic Mediterranean city for centuries.
