The Pyramid was built over twenty years during the reign of King Khufu (2589–2566 BC) of the 4th Dynasty and composed of over 2 ½ million blocks of limestone, which weigh from 2 to 70 tons each. The Great Pyramid of Giza is a defining symbol of Egypt and the last of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World.

The Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a limestone statue of a recumbent sphinx and it is among the world’s largest sculptures and measures (73 meters) long (20 meters) high. The Sphinx was carved from a single piece of limestone and pigment residue suggests that the entire Great Sphinx was painted. The Great Sphinx is one of Egypt’s most famous landmarks and is arguably the best-known example of sphinx art.

Ibn Tulun Mosque

Ibn Tulun Mosque is a remarkable example of Islamic architecture that has survived for more than a thousand years. The mosque was built by Ahmad ibn Tulun, the governor of Egypt under the Abbasid caliphate, between (876 - 879 CE). The mosque reflects the influence of the Samarran style from Iraq, where Ibn Tulun was born.

Al Rifa'i Mosque
